Choices for the Best Printed T Shirt
Can’t you buy transfer paper anywhere in the area? With this you can easily order self-designed clothing online, and you don’t have to get started with the transfer paper and iron. This is especially useful for those parents who find it a bit exciting to get started themselves, but also like that children print their own shirt. If you look at the textilien bedrucken T shirts then you will be able to have the best choices.
What do you need?
- Transfer paper (buy at hobby store or bookstore)
- Garment that you want to print
- Good (photo) printer, no laser printer
- Image or text for the print
- Sharp scissors
- Ironing board and iron
- Baking paper (or kitchen paper)
- Cardboard
Make sure you have the right transfer paper. This is because there is separate paper for light and dark clothing.
Getting started with printing on clothes: printing and cutting
If you want to print on a T-shirt, you start by making or searching for the print. First, look for a nice picture in Google, for example, or type a text in Word in a nice font. First print this on plain paper. Make sure you print in mirror image, otherwise the print will appear on the clothing the other way around. For example, if you want to print T-shirts with a word such as your name, you can also buy ironing letters in the store. Then you don’t have to print them yourself. Choose the highest quality when printing, and see if the image or text is sharp.
You can also print multiple images on the same sheet of paper. If you print multiple images, there must be enough space around them so that you can cut them out nicely later. If the images are sharp and there is enough space around them, you can start printing on the transfer paper. It is important that the image or text is printed on the right side of this paper, so look carefully at how to put the paper in the printer. Usually this is upside down with the checkered side up. After printing, allow the transfer paper with the print to dry thoroughly.
If the ink has dried well you can cut out the images. Try to cut as many beautiful round corners as possible. Sharp corners release faster from clothing later. It is best to leave a thin white border around each image.
Iron the print on the clothes
Now that you have the print, it must be stuck on the clothing. The picture can only be ironed on clean washed clothes, even if the clothes were still new. Allow the iron to warm up, but do not use the steam function. Firstly, smooth out the area where the image should be, nice and smooth. After this, first let the clothing cool down, while you already set the iron on the highest setting to get well hot.
Then place the piece of cardboard between the clothes where the plate should be. Place the transfer paper on the clothing in the right place and place the baking paper over it. If everything is completely smooth without wrinkles, you can iron over the baking paper for a minute with the iron. Press hard on the iron so that the transfer paper ‘sticks’ well to the clothes. Then remove the baking paper and let the clothes cool again.
