Strategy and tactics to adopt: Field recognition
If this is the first time you have entered the Laser Tag labyrinth, you may be a little confused. In this case, our advice: go to the other side. Starting on the opposite wall, you will have a better idea of the distances. Then go around the room. Make a location that will allow you to avoid obstacles and note specific locations:
- Lights
- Entrance of stairs
- Drawings on the walls
- Hideouts
- Observatories
You will be able to move faster in the play area and take your opponents by surprise.
Some advice to follow
Since the laser game is played in a labyrinth with a blacklight, it is more than advisable to dress in black from head to toe. With clothes in bright or light colors, you would be like a walking Christmas tree. This is the first rule to follow which will allow you not to be exposed and thus, increase your chances of winning a game of laser game.
Then it is important to always stay on the move. Like hide and seek unless your hiding place is exceptional, you must always change position so as not to be spotted. And since you play as a team, don’t forget to stay in communication with your teammates. And if you don’t have walkie-talkies or headsets like real soldiers, you can warn your team members of the location of opposing players.
Different roles: The rabbit
In an army, we find machine gunners, snipers and infantry soldiers, among others. In laser tag, there are several types of players, each with their fighting style. The one who is only in its first or second part, the beginner, is then called the “Rabbit”. The latter can come in different kinds:
- The frantic rabbit running around and crying at the same time while shooting at everything that moves.
- The flagship rabbit who positions himself in a high place or in an ambush while leaving his laser-activated in front of him to knock out a player who will pass in front of him.
- The ninja rabbit that hides in the shadows then jumps on a player who will have the misfortune to pass not far from his position by shooting everywhere around him.
The Raptor
Then there is the “Raptor”, often an experienced player who is used to winning the laser game. Indeed, he is very precise in his shots while being fast. Although weak on long-range shots, it is very lively during a close-range confrontation. He will then discreetly approach his targets to surprise them and shoot them.
The turret
Then, the “Turret” presents itself as a player with great shooting precision. Also called a sniper, he can have various roles within his team. Indeed, he can protect access, be attack support for his teammates or even remain still to shoot in a particular area.
The Middle
There is also the “Middle” 2 to 3 teammates. Players grouped with specific training to scan the terrain and try to advance towards the enemy with visibility on all sides.
